Location: Newton, MA and Lexington, MA
Schedule: Part-time afternoons and weekend days with 20-25 hours per week of availability.
Pay: Starting at $25 per hour

We are seeking a responsible and knowledgeable AP US and World History Tutor to join our team and provide exceptional tutoring services to our students. This in-person position involves after-school and weekend hours, working directly with high school students in Newton and Lexington, MA.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions in AP US and World History.
Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the individual needs of each student.
Assist students in understanding historical concepts, preparing for exams, and completing assignments.
Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Communicate regularly with the Livius team to provide updates on progress and address any concerns.
Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
Ensure that all tutoring sessions meet or exceed Livius’s high-quality standards.
IDEAL CANDIDATES ADDITIONALLY HAVE
Prior experience teaching or tutoring in history or a related subject.
Experience working with high school students, including those with diverse learning needs.
A creative and professional desire to provide purposeful academic opportunities for all students.
Demonstrated ability to build trust and personal accountability within a team.
Proven ability to positively impact youth and address the varied needs of students.
Strong commitment to the Livius Prep mission and culture.
A BA or advanced specialty training in history or a related field.
YOU MUST HAVE
Demonstrated success as an instructor or tutor of high school students in history (volunteer or paid).
Comfort with technology.
Ability to clear background checks and a MA CORI check.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Be 21 years of age or older.
